Debt Recovery After a Court Judgement

debt recovery, court judgement, debt collector, debt collection, bad debt collection

Debt recovery after a court judgement should be simple!

You are owed the money!

The Court judgement is a legal document which confirms the debtor owes you the amount of money shown in the judgement!

The fact you have the judgement means that you can legally undertake other debt recovery methods through the Courts!

SO WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET THE MONEY?

Well, the debtor really doesn't want to pay you! That is why you have had to go to Court and get a judgement to collect the money owing to you. Without any security, like a bill of sale, which entitles you to seize specified goods if money is not paid, the Court judgement is the only legal way to take other debt recovery action, to collect money owing to you.

However, it is important that you choose the right method of debt collection to get your money. There are a number of different legal means to attempt to collect the debt. Each way can have different outcomes, and there can be no guarantee that any specific way will result in the money being collected.

Each different method of debt recovery after a court judgement requires the right forms to be completed, lodged in the right Court, and the Court fees paid. This then leads to other actions to be taken, all to try and get the money, or force the debtor to pay. Mistakes in the Court forms will just lead to delays in the debt collection.

It all takes time and knowledge to get it right. That is why you should let a professional Debt Collector do it for you. A professional Debt Collector should be able to advise you as to the best method to take.

Debt collection is not as simple as you would think. That is why you have had to go to Court, just to get to the stage where you can take debt collection methods, not otherwise available. It also takes up time.

Below, are listed the different methods of debt collection that you can legally take after a Court Judgement is obtained, together with the links to other pages which provide more detail.

Whilst it will incur costs, most of these costs are recoverable from the Debtor, and are added to the debt to be collected.

In most cases, provided the debtor has assets, you should recover these additional costs.
